RPSC EO/RO (Department of Local Self Government) Exam Syllabus

General Information

Scheme & Syllabus of Examination

• There will be one question paper in Rajasthan RPSC EO/RO (Department of Local Self Government) Exam

Note :-

• All questions will be multiple choice type.
• All questions will carry equal marks.
• For a wrong answer to a particular question, one third (1/3) of the total marks of that question will be deducted from the candidate’s marks.
• The standard of the question paper will be of graduation level.

Scheme of Examination

The examination shall include one paper of 2 hours duration covering the following subjects :-

   • Political and Administrative System of Rajasthan
   • Public Policy and Rights
   • Current Events
2. Part- B :-
   • Rajasthan Municipal Act- 2009 and various rules and schemes related to urban bodies

Part- A (General Knowledge)

Rajasthan’s History, Art, Culture, Literature, Tradition, and Heritage :-

1. Prehistoric Sites in Rajasthan – From the Paleolithic to the Chalcolithic and Bronze Ages
2. Historic Rajasthan: Important historical centers from the early Christian era. Society, religion, and culture in ancient Rajasthan.
3. Political and cultural achievements of important rulers of major dynasties: Guhils, Pratiharas, Chauhans, Parmars, Rathores, Sisodias, and Kachhwahas. Administrative and revenue systems in medieval Rajasthan.
4. Rise of Modern Rajasthan: Factors of social awakening in Rajasthan during the 19th and 20th centuries. Politics and peasant movements; the Prajamandal movement in various princely states during the 20th century. The unification of Rajasthan.
5. Architectural traditions of Rajasthan: Temples, forts, palaces, and man-made aquatic structures; various styles of painting and handicrafts.
6. Performing Arts: Classical music and classical dance; folk music and instruments; folk dance and drama.
7. Language and Literature: The dialects of the Rajasthani language; Rajasthani literature and folk literature.
8. Religious life: Religious communities, saints, and sects in Rajasthan. Folk deities of Rajasthan.
9. Social life in Rajasthan: Fairs and festivals; social customs and traditions; costumes and jewelry.
10. Prominent personalities of Rajasthan. Folk music, folk dances, musical instruments, and jewelry.
11. Rajasthani culture, tradition, and heritage.

Indian Constitution, Political System, and Governance :-

1. Indian Constitution: Philosophical Elements :-
   • Constituent Assembly, Features of the Indian Constitution, Constitutional Amendments.
   • Preamble, Fundamental Rights, Directive Principles of State Policy, Fundamental Duties.
2. Indian Political System :-
   • President, Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Parliament, Supreme Court and Judicial Review.
   • Election Commission of India, Comptroller and Auditor General, NITI Aayog, Central Vigilance Commission, Lokpal, Central Information Commission and National Human Rights Commission.
   • Federalism, Democratic Politics in India, Coalition Governments, National Integration.

Political and Administrative System of Rajasthan :-

1. The political system of the state :-
   • Governor, Chief Minister and Council of Ministers, Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, High Court.
2. The administrative system of the state :-
   • District administration, local self-government, and Panchayati Raj institutions.
3. Institutions :-
